As active property investors and developers, we always keep a close eye on the economy and other important metrics, such as; affordability, liquidity of capital and supply and demand. One of the most important indicators is the UK Rental Market Report from Hometrack.

As you can see from the headline numbers above rents have continued to increase by an average 11% across the UK (excl London) and by an even larger increase in London of 15.7%, making the UK average rent now £995. The demand is also very strong with 14 days being the average time to let a property.
